Happy February! I hope everyone had a nice weekend. We sure did and after a few little indulgences it's nice to have Monday get you back into your routine. I dragged myself to Pilates and despite feeling like jello afterwards, it was a good kind of "I can't walk" feeling. Anyway, I have been in Texas for one month now and a teeny bit of CA homesickness peered into my heart. However, as I was perusing my pics I ran into these shots that I took before I left and they really spoke to me. Notice the FOCUS on the telescope above? How about the SIGHT below?
Well it just got me centered and help me regroup so I can FOCUS and not lose SIGHT of my goals. Definitely needed on a Monday and at the start of a new month. How are you doing? Do you set goals at the start of each month? This month, I want to keep up with making healthy meals, working out and getting ready for our honeymoon beach vacation that we have planned in May ( to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary!).
What are your upcoming goals? Is there anything special you are working towards?

Those pictures are beautiful, and I also love the words that you captured in the photos. I can definitely imagine you have a bit of homesickness. I'm sorry! I should set more goals. We are eating healthier and it feels good. I really need to remember to focus though. I get tired, I spend too much time on the computer, and I don't do what I should be doing around the house or with Boyd. Thanks for the great post and reminder! Have a great week.
ReplyDeletehi laura...love these pics.
ReplyDeleteyour pilates and healthy cooking are wonderful for keeping yourself in a beachy vibe.
your going to feel great in that bikini on your honey-versary!
Totally understand your homesickness. I had the same thing last week, worse because my kids are still in the Pacific Northwest, and one of them had a car accident. It was an awful week. He's okay, the car is sort of drive-able, but I just felt helpless and homesick because I was not there. It will get better, I promise.

My goal is to be happier this month. Been in a fog lately.

i'm sorry you're homesick, i truly empathize. the words you captured in your pictures are a fitting reminder, as it's still early in the year, new month.
ReplyDeletelike you, i have been homesick - for charleston (can i even say "homesick", as we weren't there for long!) and as always, missing the turquoise waters of our old playground tortola.
goals i'm working on: career and travel. it's all good!
hang in there friend

WOW. Those pictures are amazing. I wish I was as good as photography as you are. :)
ReplyDeleteI wish you the best. A honeymoon beach vacation sounds really nice. :)
I just went through that homesick feeling while I was in Aspen working. Hit the wall on day 9 and was wishing I was at home with my doggies and Ian. I know you will make the most of Texas and show us all the wonderful spots you have found! xo
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it's a big change. I wish there was a place I loved so much to be homesick about. All the best! Great pictures!!
