¡Feliz viernes!  I still want to share with you some more pics from downtown Long Beach.  I love this building and snapped this shot quickly while we were driving past it.  This is the Villa Riviera.  It is a 16 story building in the French Gothic style.  According to the its website " in 1996, the Villa Riviera earned its rightful place on the National Register of Historic Places, ensuring it as one of the most important landmarks in California."
It was completed in 1929 by the Los Angeles firm of Kinne & Westerhouse and Architect Richard B. King was awarded the Grand Prize at the Paris Exposition of 1930 for his outstanding design.Today this building is a condominium, can you imagine living here?  How fun would that be!
This building reminds me of the capital records building in Hollywood but obviously it is a high rise with many different views of Long Beach.
Do you have a favorite style of architecture that you admire?
