Pearl Style Inspiration

from Marie Claire June 2010

This is one of my favorite style inspiration photos. I am in love with the art of layering natural, earthy necklaces together.  Also a simple black bikini, leaves little space for error and of course the flowy cover up is just fabulous.  I checked out bathing suits last weekend and it also served as inspiration to keep working out and take care of the old body, for soon there will be many days spent beach or poolside, or at least that's what I tell myself!

PS my friend Mickey from Nicholas Landon Jewelry has very beautiful leather and pearl designs.  I have my eye on the Ondine.

OH boy.. do I need to work on myself before bathing suit season.

Love the pearl/leather mix. Are you familiar with Nicholas Landon Jewelry? She does pieces very similar to these, you like it.

bathing suit season...wow, now there's an old familiar term from my pre-caribbean days!
this image is great- it's beautiful how the pearls are worn nonchalantly. this is how i'd like to wear pearls! the black bikini is perfection...as is the cover-up.

I have decided my legs are beyond help. They look 70 years old.
However 13 years ago I looked like this in my black bikini. :)
I dont even own a swimsuit now.

My shoulders have always been too broad to be able to get away with a bikini. Well, the shoulders and social norms and all.

The beautiful necklace, I could fit in to...the bikini, not so much!!! But, do love the necklace, it would go good with a cute little black dress too!!!! At my age anyways!
