Caballitos del Mar or Seahorses are one of my favorite sea creatures. Aren't they just darling? They like shallow and temperate waters just like I do! Oh and the males give birth to their young (the fry), aren't they thoughtful?

I think seahorses have regal qualities about them so I was excited to learn that each one has a coronet (a small crown) which is unique to each individual just like our fingerprints are unique to each human.
I shot these pictures at the Monterey Aquarium and if you happen to head up to Monterey, check out the exhibit "The Secret lives of Seahorses". It runs til August 2013.
I love seahorses too. Your right they do have a regal quality about them.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. They are so beautiful. Little gentle creatures. I love them too. Its interesting to learn that the males give birth.
ReplyDeletep.s.Your camera takes awesome photos.
What lovely photographs...I haven't been to the Monterey Aquarium in years and years...must go visit again while the exhibition is running (I've been needing an excuse to head down to Cali any ways LOL!)
