How was your weekend? As you can see, mine was beautiful. I had a quick visit at the Redondo Beach Pier. This gorgeous structure offers an amazing ocean view. The original pier was built in 1889 but this horseshoe designed pier was constructed in 1995.
Redondo Beach is part of the area referred to as the South Bay here in SoCal. The other nearby beach towns part of the South Bay are Hermosa and Manhattan Beaches. Remember this post from Hermosa and this one from Manhattan?
I could look out to the sea forever. What a great place to clear your thoughts, do some soul searching or just dream.
After enjoying a walk around the pier, we headed onto our next destination : Long Beach. Come back tomorrow for a look at Snoop Dogg's hometown!
Do you have a favorite pier or boardwalk?
My friend, Trish, plans to retire in Long Beach.

ReplyDeleteOh, this is where I grew up. Let's see, there was Tony's and Cattleman's. Are they still there? My husband I used to go there. My hang out growing up was Manhattan pier, but we went to Hermosa and Redondo all the time too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the memories. I haven't been there in quite awhile. We were just at Newport this week though :-)
Blessings,
Marcia
