Well dolls, I have a new friend and her name is Quinoa. Apparently "she" is a staple in South America, I did not know this but in my defense I am from Central America! I wanted to try it because of it's high protein value and because my diet of brown rice and whatever protein was getting very aburrido/boring! Good news : It is awesome!! You must try it.
It is easy to make, pretty much boil water and pour and let it poof ( do check your box for directions) and one thing I do know how to do is boil water so it is a perfect sealaura ingredient. Now, thanks to simpledaisy I have learned to be a little more creative en la cocina so what I did was add some salmon, a teeny tiny bit of mayo and avocado and mixed it in a bowl.
I used some TJ sourdough bread and I was surprised how yummy this concoction was. To tell you the truth I really wanted to run to Chipotle and eat a burrito but in an effort to save dinero and eat what I have, I actually made something edible.
Never tried it but since you were brave enough to give it a go then I'll try it too! Always looking for healthy options.
ReplyDeleteHave a beachy weekend!
