This is one of my favorite photographs. It was taken on my trip to Kauai looking down from a helicopter. It is the beautiful Napali coast. As many of you know Kauai is known as the Garden Island because it is so lush and green. I fell in love with this place and I hope to go back someday. I love the turquoise water. It was breathtaking to have a helicopter ride above this island. I am afraid of heights so it was especially thrilling. I don't think I stopped shaking until the last 10 minutes. Nevertheless it was a wonderful experience. As you may recall this week's theme at Written is down . I hope this downward view lifts you up on this wednesday! :)

ReplyDeleteHere's what I WANTED to say...
This photo reminds me of the pictures that astronauts take from the space shuttle or the International Space Station. The level of detail and rich color both make your eye want to explore every last pixel. It's got such amazing depth...and it really deserves to be framed.
And you got to fly in a helicopter! How cool is that!
beautiful!
ReplyDeletehow is norman doing?! so scary :( eloise is sending him good doggy/beachy vibes.
it has been so warm (50s...ha!) in boston lately, and i have been tempted to bust out the summer wardrobe, too, but i know it is just a tease... at least we know it can still get warm.
