I've had my little Norman Alexander for 5 months now and he is a very good traveler. This summer Norman's biggest adventure was going to Las Vegas. Luckily his grandparents and aunt watched him while I went out on the town. Recently I stumbled upon California Dog Friendly Events and was happily surprised by the list. The Dog Days of Summer event at Cardiff by the Sea sounds like the perfect outing for a beach and animal lover like myself. In my "research" I was also happy to learn that Best Western , La Quinta hotels, and the Red Roof Inn are pet and budget friendly.
Side Note: I am always working on my goal of moving to the islands so I was happy to see that if we moved to the USVI , Norman would not have to be quarantined and could easily adjust to his new diggs. But for now we will continue our California life and keep dreaming about entering Norm into Wagapalooza the island version of the Westminster Dog Show on St. John.
Hey Laura, Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! I LOVE the sea, too, but I live about as far away from it as you can get in the US! Boohoo. However, we will be going to Mazatlan next week, so I will be able to enjoy it for four days. I hope you accomplish your goal of living on an island! That is sooo cool!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I hope you think about entering my contest! I'm sure you have SOME type of unusual homemaking skill or tip that you could share with us. Even if it's just something little, we would love to hear about it! I hope to see you again soon. Thanks again!
Hi Laura, Norman can easily go to the USVI! Actually, he can fly on the plane with you in the under-seat compartment (you have to pay extra money, but it is well worth it). I got an airline approved soft-sided carry-on case (made by Sherpa). I got the largest size available to allow Toby plenty of room to move around and have his toys in there with him. If you need any tips for flying with him, feel free to ask!
ReplyDeleteHi Laura, Thanks for stopping by my blog. I currently live in St. Croix. I have a 13lb. dog that moved with me. He fit under the seat of the plane. Easy as that. If your dog is bigger, you can still bring him down, just a bit more work.If you ever need any tips moving to the VI,just let me know!
ReplyDeletetraveling shaunda and wels are right, it's very easy to get your doggy here. Lots of people do it everyday. It would be fun to have you as a neighbor. Perhaps you wouldn't be a science-phobe! lol I couldn't imagine living here without my doggy.
