In case you've been wondering where I've been, I've been trying to enjoy the little moments and life that end of being the BIG moments when you look back. When I was back home in California, you we explored every nook and cranny that we could. Now that we are in Tennessee, we are trying to do the same, so we decided to go camping.
And of course our Canine Travel Team was on board. Newman and Norman were all smiles this weekend.
Believe it or not this camping trip was very easy to put together. I made some Spring rolls and packed up easy no fuss snacks that we had at home and hit the road. We just wanted a change of scenery and lucky for us, that's easy to do since' we've only been here 6 months.
We headed to Old Hickory Lake over on the Gallatin part to Cages Bend Campground. It was really relaxing to sit nestled around so many trees and just enjoy the fresh air. If you are on a budget like we are, I highly recommend checking out your local campsites and planning your very own stay-cation even just a few miles from home. We saw some couples, just pitch a tent and enjoy, so you don't need to have an RV or mini-RV to hit the road.
As you can see it was the most perfect weekend. Little Norman had the most relaxing time too. We are taking all this positive sunshine into the week.
Have you explored anywhere new in your town?
Everything in Austin is new to us, and having houseguests to entertain has really gotten me out there exploring.
ReplyDeleteCamping is the best! I've been trying to convince J that we should start accumulating camping supplies again. We'd sold or given away all our equipment before we moved to the BVI. We were always tent campers but I'd love a little mobile camper like your Casita.
Wow I have been away from blogging so long...I didn't know you moved. The Midwest is very different than Ca. We lived in Kansas City for 18 mos and missed California terribly. The greenery there is beautiful though. And there is Lot to see. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteWish I could share some wine and spring rolls with you! Your Casita is so perfect, I just love it. I haven't explored lately, but I thought of making a list of some fun spots that I can do, alone, once Boyd starts school. Hope all is well with your cute little family! Think of you often. xo
