Monday blues is here again with this happy buggy I spotted out in town. For my next post I will be writing from a secret location.

Oo00oh the mystery, right?
So clearly I will be traveling for the next few days and I am SO EXCITED! I love traveling because I feel so free, alive and worldly. I love thinking about how airports intersect so many lives. How about you? What do you love about traveling? Are you a light packer or do you bring the kitchen sink with you? I am a light packer. I usually bring tank tops, 1 pair of pants, 1 sweater, maybe 2/3 pair of shorts, 1 or 2 dresses and ciao ciao bellas I am ready! Of course you need some other goodies so here are my other must haves:
1. camera (w/charger of course!)
2. scarf
3. dream mask
4. sunglasses
5. small purse that comes across body for easy access to ID, $$, chapstick
6. large backpack or tote
7. ipod full of NPR podcasts (w/charger of course!)
I am still packing and trying to see what else I may need and hopefully not forget. I am going to a location where everything is mucho $$$$ so I want to avoid spending other than for travel, a few snacks and a few souvenirs. We shall see how I do dahlings, that is the plan at least. Do you have any travel tips for me? Any good stories? Don't be shy, feel free to help me with the last minute packing and don't forget to enjoy your Monday :-)
Oh, I used to travel a lot in my twenties and thirties. And my first long trip was actually cross country in the USA for three month with a boyfriend..., always traveled light! Now, I'm kind of a homebody, but considering that I relocated from Switzerland, being here still somewhat feel like an adventure!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I tend to pack heavy. When I fly, I am right up to the weight limit (but I never pay the overage fee! so no kitchen sink...ha!)

I always like to bring an any memory chip for the camera if I don't have the laptop with. Just in case!
I love travelling, and have to create detailed lists, or I will most definitely forget stuff!! Although I try to keep it light, it never works out - there's always just one more thing I need to shove into the bag!! Come check out my Monday Blues post! ;>

I am the lightest packer ever. I never take makeup on holidays either.
ReplyDeleteI'm the light packer variety! I went to Japan this year, where I thought everything would be expensive, but was surprised - I took some snacks with me and didn't eat in fancy restaurants but I still had the most amazing experiences. I love just to wander and take photos.......and that doesn't cost anything!
