On Saturday, Norman and I visited the Hazardous Waste disposal site in Redlands. We were on a mission to get rid of an old TV but we failed. No worries, because we still were able to learn about the kinds of stuff that end their life here: paint, batteries, etc. You still might be wondering what is hazardous waste? Well according to their website hazardous waste is "Any material or mixture of waste which is corrosive, poisonous, flammable, combustible, caustic, volatile, explosive, an irritant, a strong sensitizer, or toxic." Norm and I also learned that the Fire Department handles the operations. Wow, that is sure nice of them to spend their Saturdays helping out with this green cause.
As far as getting rid of that old TV and other electronic waste, we need to call 1800-Oily Cat for nearest locations and hours.
