On this 6th of January you might be getting ready to give up on your New Years Resolutions if you made any that is... I mean,  I had a piece of pie last night with ice cream and it was soooo good!

B and I practice yoga and I really like the idea of the word Intention rather than resolution.  I read an article in Yoga Journal and thought I would share some of it here with you.
"Setting intention, at least according to Buddhist teachings, is quite different than goal making. It is not oriented toward a future outcome. Instead, it is a path or practice that is focused on how you are "being" in the present moment. Your attention is on the ever-present "now" in the constantly changing flow of life. You set your intentions based on understanding what matters most to you and make a commitment to align your worldly actions with your inner values."

Learning the difference between goals and intentions was valuable.

B had always wanted to do a polar bear plunge, being from Alaska how could he not?!
We headed to Isle of Palms in South Carolina right before heading back to Nashville, to make his polar bear plunge come true.  Newman really loves his Dad, as I put this post together I realized how much he likes to photobomb all of his pics.
This was such a fun experience.  We were feeling a bit stressed because we had to start heading back to Nashville but before we let the stress take over, we made this happen.  There was an "official" polar bear plunge on the next island over but fighting the crowds is what added to our feeling of  dread so we decided to create our own event.
Do you plan on making any intentions this year?
