The official start of summer might be a few weeks away but here in South Texas it has arrived. The heat is not too bad, it's the humidity as you can imagine that wipes you out. So aside from drinking gallons and gallons of water these are two of my favorite drinks before 5pm. Today is a scorcher so I ran in and poured me a glass of mineral water with lime. It is incredibly refreshing and helps bring me back to life after taking the boys on their early afternoon walk.
Another favorite drink is Coconut water. It is definitely a treat since it does have some calories, but not too many. Plus I bet here in Texas they evaporate. Of course nothing is better than drinking it straight from an actual coconut but until then, we do what we can.
What do you like to drink (before 5pm)?
I need to try the mineral water plus lime. That sounds so good. I think this heat/humidity has dehydrated me over the last few days. I am feeling awful today. I need to drink more water! I have coffee in the morning, water during the day, and a coke zero sometime in there.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week!
Hi Laura!
ReplyDeleteI hopped over from Nicolle's blog. Your blog name caught my eye, cause I love the sea!
Love your pictures. That first shot is so so neat. So is the second one really. I also LOVE coconut water.
Stay cool in that humidity out there. Nice to meet ya. :)
A little bit of coconut sounds nice!! I drink out of jars too, haha!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Arnold Palmer all the way (virgin before 5)!
ReplyDeleteI do love my coconut water, I also like to juice.... celery + beetroot + lemon + grapefruit and apple.

Coffee, then coffee, then another coffee and maybe a smoothie.
ReplyDeleteI have never ever tried coconut water. I must put this on my list of things to do.
Have a wonderful humid day. :)
The humidity gets to me, too, even though I've lived in muggy climates my whole life. I simply don't tolerate it well anymore - seems I've reach my limit, ha!
ReplyDeleteMineral water IS very refreshing. I usually buy San Pellegrino; however, I discovered Topo Chico in Marfa, and I get a kick out of the fun retro bottle. It's just as good as SP, and it's easier to find in these parts.
Coconut water...love! Now that it's more readily available, I drink it frequently.

Ok you so know what I was going to say I like to drink but then you had to go and add that whole "before 5 PM" thing. Margaritas!! (-:
