Today is the day B and I usually head downtown to Monterey to pick up our goodies for the week. There's a lot of talk these days about eating local and seasonal and thankfully we are lucky enough to do so here in Monterey County.
The market is held in Old Monterey on Tuesdays from 4-8pm . Beside the lovely veggie selection you can also find some craft and cooked food vendors as well.
If you are a regular around here, you know B and I are HUGE farmer's market fans and have hit so many in California. Remember this one from Morro Bay, this one in Cambria, or how about this one in Santa Monica?
I guess going to these farmer's markets wherever we are living or vacationing is part of our family routine.
What outings do you include in your weekly routine?
What a great Farmer's Market. We have one not too far from us in St. Petersburg. In that general area they use to have an adorable little "bamboo" shop, everything made of bamboo, including t-shirts, linens, etc., though they have now closed down. :( I love anything made of bamboo, such a renewable resourse and it was so close to the Farmer's Market, so you were able to get all the fresh veggies, and beautiful items made of bamboo. Miss it!!

ReplyDeletewish i could include a trip to a local farmer's market in my weekly routine! the pseudo-natural-foods supermarket will have to do. :)
It looks amazing. Every time I pass an outdoor veggie stand I don't have any cash. :(
ReplyDeleteI love to get fresh tomato's. I put a slice on a bagel half and top with provolone and broil in the oven. I could eat that every night!
Thanks for reminding me I need to go downtown to local farmers market

Have a great week! I hope to continue to go to a Farmers market once a week!
Those strawberries are gorgeous. My two year old wants one. They are out of season here. You can still get them but they taste terrible.
ReplyDeleteCan you belive our local farmers market closed as the local business' complained it was reducing their sales. it was only once a month. Very short sighted.

Those strawberries look to die for! I love farmers markets too - it's such a great way to support the local economy.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love farmer's markets. I've been into eating lots of vegetables and fruits lately - those strawberries look amazing. I just wanted to stop by and thank you for visiting my blog :) I'm obsessed with the beach and my house is covered in sea shells!
