How about a little beachy goodness for today? On a recent journey to Marshall's I found the perfect spoon rests for the sealaura villa. Aren't they darling? The preparations for my move have got me thinking about the old tradition of trousseaus. Now don't get excited, I am not getting married, but like victorian women of yesteryear, I have been gathering linens, towels, and some other goodies for my new home. My decor style is already beachy but items like my shell lights and sea life pillows will be inaugurated at the villa. What about you? Did you have a trousseauish hope chest? I know it may sound old fashioned, but have you kept things knowing someday you would place them somewhere special?
What sea-worthy spoon rests.
ReplyDeleteI think it's nice to collect things that you love for now or to save for a home with a special someone. I had a 'hope chest' filled with all of my favorite dishes, linens, family treasures-which are right at home here. Thank you for your sweet comment this morning.
OH how lovely! I don't have anything quite like that, but I SHOULD! Love the LinkWithin Widget by the way. Very Snazzy!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spoon rests!
ReplyDeleteWell, I happen to be moving too and I shall be a lot closer to the sea...I am quite excited to smell the salt air. But I may need some of those sea life pillows too for my new casa! I hope all is well with you - your mirror is halfway done :)
adorable!!!
ReplyDeletei kept a few of my niece's baby clothes tucked away, although I "claimed" I didn't want kids, and after I was married, to a man who wants kids, I showed him the special niece's special baby clothes, and he said, yeah right, you didn't want kids! (I just couldn't envision who their dad could be until he came along...)
we are trying now... ;)
I love love love them!! Great finds!
ReplyDeleteI love your new finds! Such pretty shell themes... I do that with clothing. I buy dresses or tops and sometimes even shoes in preparation for 'special' events and have a hard time wearing them to anything that doesn't seem 'special' enough :) I'm a dork.
ReplyDeleteoo la la
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteI will be doing just that next week: spending some quality beach time w/ husband & visiting friends....A mini-holiday!
Haha, I certainly don't have anything like a trousseau, but I have a lot of ideas for things I want when I do get a home.
