On Saturday Norman and I visited Manhattan Beach. Norman & I will eventually make it out to the Atlantic but this past weekend we stayed local (sort of.. about 80 miles from Redlands). Manhattan beach is located between Hermosa Beach and Santa Monica. In the pic above, you can see the roundhouse at the end of the pier. They have a museum and coffee shop at the end. Unfortunately Norman was not allowed on the pier so we had to admire it from afar, but oh well.
Although Norm couldn't really go on the beach, we enjoyed the breeze and the change of pace from our life in the Inland Empire. Norman prefers Huntington Beach as you may recall from my previous post, but we were happy to add another beach to our repertoire.

Ahhh, it's been so long since I've even seen the Pacific! Speaking of which, my husband and daughter are in frolicking in the Atlantic today (Jacksonville Beach FL) while I sit surrounded by a million books and notes. no fair!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures! I read some of your older posts and we do seem to have a lot in common, including the car naming thing. hahaha! Also middle names with pets. and of course, the love of islands! I have lived in Japan, Guam, Hawaii, Cali, and then here to Florida. But have been to a few more: Fl. Keys,Jamaica,Turks&Caicos,Bahamas, Cozumel, Cayman...I want to visit Puerto Rico, the VIs, and Tahiti (BoraBora) next!
I saw the Pacific in 1977, first and only time. But I've seen the Atlantic lots of times, from the Carolinas, Florida, and from France. I love the ocean, and I'll bet it's great to have Norm with you on the beach! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteHappy Labor Day! (I celebrated it by working. [smile])
Hi there--I just found your blog through Glee Goggles!
ReplyDeleteYour Norman is adorable! :)
Hey there! I'm glad you had a good weekend and got some awesome pics! Normie looks so happy there on the beach. And that windmill picture is awesome! That is one thing that defines the drive to Palm Springs.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a fun "last hurrah!"
I love the pic of him looking at the beach. What a sweet dog he is! I swear he's smiling!
ReplyDeleteYou're really good at sharing highly varied views of your life's adventures. I never quite know where your lens will go next...which makes it that much more fun to visit here.
